Hi all.
Today we woke up and left our camping site to drive to a look-out ominously named ‘The Edge of the World’. The lookout viewed a seemingly endless expanse of sea that seemed a little like the edge of everything.
Next was our boat cruise along the Arthur River. With four other tourists and the guides, we watched beautiful Sea Eagles be fed with fish, cruised up and down the river and were lectured on the topic of the uninhabited, heavily vegetated, unexplored area.
Did you know:
A large portion of the area next to the river has never been explored or ventured
into?
There are two different types of quoll?
Tarkine is the name for the surrounding area?
There is a possibility that the Tasmanian Tiger is still alive, hiding in the unexplored
Tarkine?
Both wedge tailed eagles and sea eagles are very territorial towards each other, even
though they hunt different types of food?
Wedge tailed eagles keep their young and continue to share territories with them but
sea eagles will drive theirs out?
Ending the cruise, we drove for a few hours and arrived at a free rest stop on the side of the road, in the middle of a national park. It is very pretty, peaceful and surrounded by ferns. Taking the available short walk, we ventured through thick rainforest-like vegetation next to a small creek.
